Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1200 (Model 71xxx, Hybrid DVB-T, No FP = Fuzzy picture
Hello all,
have just become a member of the site and a new media center to boot
I Have managed to get it all up and running thanks to a lot of advice found by searching this site, including the TV guide on EPG
My main issue now is getting good picture clarity on the screen, running DVD or music videos is fantastic but the picture quality on Foxtel is pretty fuzzy / not sharp
I have read various ideas in previous threads but, being new to this, none seem to address the Hauppanauge 1200? is the 42 in plasma to much for this card?
Could anybody share some info into sharpening the reception?
Also, I have read that I will only be able to either tune free to air or Foxtel through the MCE, is this correct? I was hoping that I could have the option of recording either. Any ideas on this would also be appreciated

I don't have Foxtel, so I'm not speaking from experience here, but my understanding is that to get Foxtel through VMC you will connect the Foxtel box via composite or S-Video to your analogue capture card. In general I would expect this process to provide a much less sharp picture than what you would get from a DVD or digital TV within Media Center.
Having said that, if your picture is extrememly fuzzy, then check that you have good quality shielded cables running between the Foxtel box and the PC. This is an analogue signal and thus prone to interference.
