Avermedia Tuner Problem

Hi All,

I have recently had to replace the Processor (long story!!) on my Media Centre and am now trying to get it all up and running again. I am encountering a problem which is essentially stopping me in my tracks. Every time I go into Media Centre and try to watch something, I am presented with the message:

"Digital Cable Device Registration application stopped working and was closed"

When I go to Problems and Solutions in Control Panel it mentions my NVidia Graphics Card but all the drivers for this are up to date?

Installed latest Drivers for NVidia and Media Centre is now saying that it cannot detect the tuners? I have 2 x Avermedia Digital Tuners.

Can anyone please help??

Re: Avermedia Tuner Problem

Are these the 777 Avermedias and what drivers are you using for them?

EDIT - mikevets, I have deleted the other instances of this request in the other forums. Multiple postings just add confusion as any help posted is scattered all over the place. I have left this one as it sems to be in the most logical forum for your problem.

Hi,

I have 2 x AverTV Hybrid + FM PCI.
I just downloaded the drivers off the Installation CD and am about to try again. How can I tell the driver version?

Re: Avermedia Tuner Problem

Found the problem!! When changing processors, there is sometimes a need to reset the DRM system on the PC. It's all explained in the Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929642

Hope it helps others in the same position
