I have a DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI e2 tuner card. I'm using Vista Media Centre. I've messed around with the DNTV Live! software and can't get it to record the foxtel signal i have coming through on my analog input. It happily records teh DVB-T signals.
Firstly, has anyone figured out how to get the software to work?
Otherwise, is there a better alternative? Other software that I can use to record the incoming Foxtel signal? I understand I can't use VMC for both digital tv and this analog feed of foxtel.

I use Dscaler for viewing analogue, some use Media Portal, someone also mentioned this application as working well with the dual hybrid cards.

I don't think DNTV Live records analog (see here under Analogue Inputs PIP).
I rarely capture from Foxtel, but when I do, I use MainConcept MPEG2 Encoder - the last version was 1.5.1.

you can view the analogue signal through picture in picture but you cannot capture it with dntv live.
from memory, there is a program on the driver disc called hypervision (or maybe hypermedia....something like that) which can view and capture analogue using that card (works well for me) i usually capture it as a vob file then use autoGK to compress to avi.
i havent used it for foxtel, but i have used it for recording old video tapes
DNTV Scheduler Pro 2.0.3, with digital terrestrial/satellite TV, analogue TV, FM Radio and AV capture support coming...
That is a good thing for those using the analog inputs to capture Foxtel.
thanks for the options guys i'll try them and see how i get one.
incidentally, i've tried dscaler and can't seem to get the audio to record. hypermedia centre screws up my aspect ratio - but i'll have another fiddle while i wait for the upgrade of dntv scheduler pro.

Hi Yarra64,
If you wish to try our next version of DNTV Scheduler Pro 2.03, which has support for analogue TV, and analogue video capture amongst other new features, contact me directly (renura@digitalnow.com.au) and I will email you a pre-release version of it.
