I am using a NovaT500 + HVR2200 at the moment. Working OK, but I can tell when I am using NovaT vs HVR - faster channel changes on the later!
I'll see if newmagic are interested in chasing this one up. Meanwhile, I'm happy to keep with this setup for a week before I physically remove the legacy machine and cleanup all the cabling.
I then have some heat/coolin issues to sort out. System was drawing ~100W recording 4 SD programs simultaneously and running about 60C. The stock fan is too irritating at this level. But hen, I;ve squeezed it all into a S10V case, and therefore need a low profile silent cooler..!

What driver are you using?
I found this in the release notes for driver 26025 (25/01/2008):
Quote:
* Access to more than 2 generic devices now possible
* Improved I2C handling for multiple devices.
* Support for Filter Name Enumeration for Digital Filters.
So it looks like Hauppauge DO intend to support multiple boards in the same PC.
Has anyone tried them yet? http://www.wintvcd.co.uk/drivers/HVR...26025_WHQL.zip
If you're interested in analogue, there are quite a few nice changes for that too: You should see better quality encoding and better reliability too.

I tried all 3 drivers I could find (original CD, Newmagic's website & Hauppauge UK's website - I think they are the the drivers above). All had exactly the same symptoms, but I'll try a clean out & fresh install with the UK drivers to see if that works (probably tomorrow).
I'm using 1 HVR-2200 with a Twinhan 7045/TinyUSB ATM. The HVR is better at handling impulse noise.
Justin

I've never tried the Twinhan 7045, but I know of its reputation. If the HVR-2200 can beat that, then combined with the fast channel changing, good driver support, hardware encoder for analogue and good build quality - is it perhaps the best card on the market right now? The Nova-t-500 was always a bit of a disappointment for me. Poor tuner robustness, USB issues, excessive IRQ usage and other minor niggles meant that I ending up selling mine and going to another brand of card - Terratec 2400i, which is rock solid. Microtune MT2060 tuners as used on the Nova-t 500 are terrible IMHO.
I hope to receive my HVR-2200 some time next week and can't wait! In my experience the Philips 7162/10046/8275 cards perform pretty well (not as good as the Terratec but close enough) so I have every bit of faith in the HVR-2200 being as close to perfection as is possible since it uses newer versions of those components.

@Justin,
IRQ 16 + 18 was for 2 x HVR-2200s (before I put in the NovaT 500).
Goods news newmagic are on to it, can't wait for the fix so I can run 2 of these. I can tell when VMC is using the NovaT-500 or the HVR-2200 by the channel changing time

Thanks Mark!
Do you know if it's the same with any system, or is it only on specific motherboards/chipsets?
I'm using an Nvidia 7050PV/630a chipset (Abit AN-M2HD), but I'm going to try 2 cards on my AMD X1250/690G board (Gigabyte with more PCIe slots).
Thanks,
Justin

The channel change is about the same as the 7045 (i.e. lightning quick), but it's definitely more robust when it comes to tolerating little hiccups in the signal. I've had microstutter problems with 9HD (for some reason 9's signal is a little bit weaker than the rest where I am), but watching the cricket on it last night (via the HVR-2200) was near perfect (except for the result ).
It's a premium card (I paid $190 ea), but it's looking like it's worth it (as long as they get the running dual cards issue sorted).

Please let us know if they will be able to fix the problem. I see this card as my next upgrade if 4 tuners will work
It looks like a driver related issue to me.
