DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-Express S2 / DVICO Digital DUAL

Okay, I have just started running Windows Vista Media Center with the DVIO Digital DUAL for sometime without many issues at all. The card was a bit slow with channel channels and I had a few problems. All channels were working fine for a few weekes however now Channel 10 won't rescan using this card. I was using the drivers from Windows Update.

Once I lost channel 10 I couldn't get it back even by re-installing a fresh Windows Vista. So I decided to purchase the DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-Express S2 When I first installed this I accidentally installed the Phillips Windows Update drivers. I then removed these, checking the delete drivers button within the Uninstall option. I then installed the drivers from the DigitalNow web site.

Channel 10 now scans however I am missing SBS. When I try view Channel 10 it is just a black screen. I never had any problems with SBS in the past.

The antenna setup is on a new house and using the EE06 Antenna (not sure of brand), with a 34DB Amplifier plugged into the power point and fee antenna outlet. Out of interest I borrowed a Digital Set-top box that works fine at another house and the Channel 10 is all blocky and looses signal on my connection. It seems very strange that Channel 10 was working fine for a few weeks. I have the antenna guy comming back on Monday to have a look, however I would like some recommendations from forum members. I really would like to have perfect reception. What else could the antenna guy do to improve this situation?

I receive the following from an Australian scan when using the ScanChannelsBDA-UK v2.4.5.1. Should I be using the UK version of the regular ScanChannelsBDA. Seems to have 100% quality but not signal strength. I have removed all the no signal log info.

Cheers,

best wait and see what the antenna chappie comes up with first, because if yoru signal is crap from the get go, any advice re tuner fixes is irrelevant. Considering MCE and a STB are giving poor reception - I'd say thats a good indicator of the culprit. There are any number of reasons an antenna may not work OK now and has done previously.

see how that goes first. try not to get too stressed

Re: DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-Express S2 / DVICO Digital DUAL

I have an update from the antenna guy (from Wednesday) and I now have channels SBS, 2, 7, 9 and 10 working well with the DVICO tuner card. Apparently I won't be able to get local channels without sacrificing the quality of the major networks. The antenna guy says that these major network channels are perfect with solid reception, he also tested a newer STB without any problems. I have not had any problems with VMC for 5 days using the DVICO card. Even IceTV has been working okay and not adding random channels.

Nothing has changed with the DigitialNow Dual Hybrid PCI-Express S2 card. Still a black screen for channel 10 then no signal, however the other channels work fine. I have tried re-installing VMC without installing the DVICO drivers and using the DigitalNow web site drivers. This issue was still occuring when I didn't have the DVICO even in the machine. I have also tried moving the card to lower PCI-Express slot.

Any ideas? I do like the S2 tunner for the faster channel changes etc. I would like to have this resolved an receive channel 10 with the S2 tuner.

Does any one know if the slow DVICO channel changes is a limitation of PCI or is it a driver issue that maybe resolved in a future update?

Thanks in advance

Try removing the DVICO from your PC and using the MC reset too, then scanning again

Try removing signal amplifiers, if any any, and scanning without it?

Try using a tool such as this http://www.dvbviewer.com/download/Tr...t_MMC_Demo.zip
to analyze your signal.

Also look at possible sources of interference (they can impact on one type of tuner and not an other and at different frequencies).
