I recently updated my pc and amongst the things I got I got Vista Home Premium and a VideoMate T750 tuner card. I've downloaded all the new drivers for the card but it still wont work in Vista.
Am I missing some critical step, is my hardware faulty or is it incompatible (according to comprousa.com it advertises this tuner card as Vista compatible). My motherboard is an ASUS P5VDC-MX if that helps.
If anyone has any solutions (including recommentations for a replacement tuner card) or has the same problem please let me know.
I am having the same problem with Compro T300 and Pinnacle PCTV 310.
My issue is that windows seems to pick an incorrect driver, and when I try and point it to the correct driver it says that the best one is aready installed and thats that.
I've been since told that the problem is my motherboard. I did a reg hack that I found on a site so now it can at least see my T750. I can only get 3 channels (10,9 and7) of which 10 is unable to be viewed, 7 is stutteriffic so bad its unwatchable, but 9 seems to work.
After all the problems i read about CH 9 reception..
I'm dual booting Vista and XP, the card works equally poor in XP.
More seriously, Vista's sound (SYSVOL) has defeated my SB Audiguy soundcard software.
I can adjust equaliser etc with EAX console but everthing has a hollow metal sound like when Vista starts up.
This has beaten me in the HTPC stakes with Vista.
Back to XP.
If you see someone smashing a hard drive with a hammer in western Sydney....thats me.
Hi all,
Just invested in the same darn card.
The compro software fails to work at all in vista, but occassionally works within vmc itself. I say occasionally, as it will sparodically crash vmc.
I gave up tryn to get vmc to work with this card, so went back to xpsp2 (which is dual booted on the same machine), only to not be able to get the card to work at all.
I have already invested the better part of a week on this peice of junk, d/l'd new drivers to no avail.
Can anyone recommend a good anal/dig tuner for xp/vmc's ?

It's a dual tuner so you can run two digital stations, two analog stations or one of each. As it says on their site though their software doesn't support analog, but hey, neither does vmc.

Unfortunatley my mobo doesn't have pci-e. Any other options for older equipment??
