I've been searching through these forums for thoughts and ideas, but so far I have been unable to get the USB side of my FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual card working. The PCI side of it works flawlessly, I just cannot get any signal through the USB one. I have tried both the 3.3 and 3.4 drivers, the 3.3 driver with the updated bluebird2.sys, the guide for changing the USB driver from 1 device into three (http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...er-setup.html). I've also tried all of my USB ports (internal and external)... All to no use. I've seen the windows installation screen enough times to not ever want to install windows again
In FusionHDTV, when I try and use PIP, the inset picture is black. In MCE when I run using the bluebird tuner(the USB), I get the "no signal" message, whilst the FusionHDTV tuner (the PCI) is fine.
My system's specs:
Asus A8N CSM VM motherboard (using onboard video), 3200 athlon64 cpu, 1gig of giel ram, 300 gig maxtor SATA II drive (which is also causing headaches with S3 standby...), iMon VFD/Remote, some samsung dvdr.
Anyone have any other ideas before I pull out more hair & send this card back?
This would be a problem with the USB connection - search the forum post for teh last 8-9 months, there's truckloads of stuff. I personally ended up using external USB connector even though connection via internal header is much neater. Also check FAQ's on dvico's web site
Hello Cbowman,
I am not sure, but I think you may be able to solve your problem with a externally powered external usb hub. But don't quote me on that!.
Anyway I hope you solve your problem with the minimal of fuss.
Goodluck
Blackjet
Blackjet - I was thinking of getting one and trying actually Hopefully it will do something... It couldn't possibly be a problem with the usb cable itself could it?
Interesting read... I haven't tried another cable yet (I'll run around the house and see if I can find one). I'm considering playing around with it more tonight.
On a side note, I got my HDD working happily with S3 standby.. (nVidia ide drivers.... *shudder*)
confused:
Forgive me but I don't understand what nVidia ide drivers are!:
I know of Nvidia video/graphic drivers, whether being AGP, PCI, PCIE, NORTHBRIDGE.
Aslo nvidia decoders.
But what are nVidia ide drivers?, do they relate to hard drives?
Anyway I am always querious to learn things?
Regards Blackjet
P.s Sorry I am pretty silly sometimes .A quick google and he presto nvdia ide related stuff everywhere!!!!!!!
Hehe - I've been battling with the nvidia drivers for some time now. The ones i'm talking about are the ones included with the nForce system drivers for nForce mainboards. The IDE driver (which is also their SATA driver) was having issues coming out of standby - the driver would be causing heaps of interrupts, overloading the CPU which resulted in a hang. It would appear that a combination of reinstalling windows, the driver (8.22 nforce from nvidia's site), and flashing my motherboards bios seems to have somehow made my hdd like standby.
Back to my tuner card - I've tried, and I've tried. Maybe I'll go and buy a powered hub and see if it does anything. If not, maybe I'll get a TwinDVB-T Receiver

Chris,
Great doc! Questions:
Does the USB lead need to be installed from the beginning of the process?
When it asks to install a second card, do you choose the dual card again or the USB card?
I'm asking as my machine seems to be failing to pickup the USB drivers.
I have just done a reformat and bios reset and am having the same problem now.
before that dvico daul worked flawlless with no problems.
After a lot of messing around to get it working it's not .
what i have just found is that my usb 2 conections say usb2 but in fact they are not so i think i will have to pull out the multimeter and do some fame fault finding.
they a not pulling anothe juice to crank it up.
My old 865pe gigabyte mother board would power up half the house and run a usb2 port hub with no power and have 4Xxbox controllers hanging of it going hard all day.
This Piece of sh*t won't ever power up twinky now.
here is a sight which may help http://www.usbman.com/USB%202%20News.htm

Well.. found the problem. Unfortunately in all of my testing and plugging in and what not, I failed to see that the soldering on the board was dodgy. One of the tuners' soldering joints look like they have flux all over it, or something's melted. Either way, it looks like its time for an RMA.
The fault with mine with mine turned out to be faulty usb tuner side stop working permantly.
Hope to get new one by the end of the week all going well.
