DVICO Dual Problem with Playback on other PCs

Unlike everyone else, my DVICO performs beautifully on a relatively low spec machine, but anyway... I have found an interesting issue, which I am wondering if anyone else has experienced and possible resolved.

When I playback over my network, all Recorded TV works beautifully with Media Player. However, if I attempt to playback a Recorded Show that has been recorded simultaniously with another - both recorded shows will playback in a distorted fashion (e.g., stuttering, in a speeded pace - sound is also distorted). Note this has been a persistent problem - will occur for both shows recorded at the same time (and on various other computers).

There is no issue for shows that have been recorded singularly.

Looking foward to hearing of other's wisdom!!
I thought perhaps Media Player needs a different CODEC installed to support this??

Re: DVICO Dual Problem with Playback on other PCs

Hi,

Are you running RU2 & RU2RU2? Can you play back recording from all channels on another machine? Are the other machine(s) just standard XP and not MCE?

The simultaneous recording issue sounds like your machine isnt coping with recording 2 streams at once. Do theses recordings stutter when played back on the MCE machine?

Andre

Re: DVICO Dual Problem with Playback on other PCs

Thanks Andre,
  • Yes RU2 Installed.
  • Playback with problems is on Windows XP Professional (all updated).
  • The shows playback with absolutely no problem on the actual Media Centre.
  • All channels record AOK and playback AOK on XP Pro Machines (as long as they have not been recorded simultaneously with another).

Mate all I can say is "WOW". I would love to know how you are getting the playback on all channels to work on other machines. Not sure why you are getting the playback issue with multiple recordings though when it isnt a problem on the MCE machine to playback.

Re: DVICO Dual Problem with Playback on other PCs

Well I am pretty sure all channels playback. Is that normally an issue? What are the symptoms - i.e., no playback or distorted playback
