Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

Hi,

Is anyone using this card yet ?, I have bought one and I am finding it does not tune all the digital channels in. My AverMedia cards work fine and find about 30 channels which include all the digital Radio channels as well, but the new Terratec card only finds 23 channels and does not find Channel 7 and that includes all the SD & HD 7 channels.

Its not a reception problem because the AverMedia cards work fine, I have Rollup 2 installed and have no other problems with the MCE system.

Any ideas?

Hi Robertus,

Was wondering were you bought this card in Brisbane or did you import it yourself from overseas ? I like the look if this card and was wondering where to find it.

Regards
Darren

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

Hi,

I bought them direct from there Website Shop online, they sent them out via DHL Express and I had them in 6 days.

The cards seem quite good and MCE found them ok but I think there first set of drives for us in Australia need a little work. I had trouble getting all the Channels, did a couple of Reg Hacks and managed to finally tune in Channel 7. I am not sure whether the Thompson Tuners they use are not sensitive enough or there drivers are not designed for Australia.

They change channel as quick as the AverMedia cards, I am runing 2 AverMedia cards and 1 Terratec PCIe(Dual) in each of my Media Servers which gives me 4 tuners in each system. Terratec also gives you PowerDVD 6 as the decoder so I might try that instead of Nvidia Purevideo tonight, I feel PureVideo is still a little buggy.

Robertus,

I have had one of these cards since the 3rd (see my review posted today).

I'm in Melbourne and I have not had any problems at all with tuning on the card. Did you delete all service before installing the card?

Cheers,

George.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

Hi,

I think the problem lies in the fact it may not like co-existing with the AverMedia cards, Also I was wondering are you using Nvidia PureVideo decoder or the PowerDVD Decorder Terratec supplied on their driver disk?

Yes I did delete all services and tried the card by itself and it kept missing about 6 channels, the main one being all channel 7's.

I had also a small problem with audio stuttering on a couple of HD channels but I have since run the PureVideo patch Nvidia supplies in regards to 5.1 speaker output which is a known bug for MCE if you have Rollup 2 installed. Will test again tonight but iseems to have fixed the problem.

I am tempted to try the PowerDVD decorder also supplies by Terratec.

Hello

It is 10:19pm Saturday and I just ordered one of these cards right now from their website

Ive got the new Shuttle SD11G5 which doesn't have normal PCI slots only PCIe, so this card looks ideal for me. Fingers crossed it will work for me.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

I've updated the review with some more information regarding compatability. I had no problems scanning all channels with the Terratec, however I had tuner cards fitted previously (DVICO) and followed the following procedure before removing them to add the Terratec.
  1. In MCE make sure that in Edit Channels, all channels are switched on.
  2. Once this is done, start a scan for new services then stop the scan.
  3. Select delete all services
  4. Install the new tuner (terratec)
  5. scan for channels, in Melbourne you should see 29
If you don't do this you may not see all the channels.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

My new 2400 arrived in the post today, the joys of being on holiday means I can swap over now and avoid any WAF drop-outs...

Has been working well so far, none of the wake issues that I had with my DVICO, which had issues with the USB tuner. Was a little weaker on the SBS signal, but still found all 29 Melb channels ok.

Very easy to install and configure, good to have 2 channels working properly at last. Is a little close to my passive cooled Gigabyte 6600, as the heatsink projects out both sides. Enough gap so no shorting however. All in all, a good produt. Took just over a week to arrive.

Re: Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT PCIe - Dual DVB-t

Got one of these cards in my Shuttle and have not had a problem with it.

I'm using the derived drivers from MCE not the ones found off the Terratec website. Make sure you've got a good signal as most internal cards need a better signal then STB's. As Georgea said, make sure that all the channels are selected in the Guide info in MCE and then do a rescan.

I installed one this morning along with 2 existing Nova-T's - now problems installing using the registry backup routine - I've tested recording 4 channels at the same time - no problems what-so-ever.
