reducing dual dtvb recorded image playback size

Hi all

Using Vista Ultimate 64

Have a dvico twin dtvb card installed and behaving ok except when recorded image is played the vertical size is too large - bit annoying on sbs with half the subtitles cut off.

Using onboard HDMI graphics on an Asus P5E board (no video card as yet) - apparently correct resolution in board's Intell graphics set up (1080p), MCE wizard image size correctly set up and displayed and image size on Sony Bravia looks correct also. Just cant get the recorded image to display correctly - seems to me that the recorded image height is too large or the card is only recording part of the transmitted/received image.

Help would be appreciated.

Did intend installing a silent Gainward 8600 GT 512 video card but this fell through - chosen card apparently no longer available - can anyone suggest a current PCIE card that will fit in an Antec fusion case - not full height (must be a technical term for this) - of course running Vista 64 - would prefer a single slot card - but like to receive any contributions - have seen some current Gainward silent cards "V" but are now two slot.

Thanks in anticipation

Steve

Re: reducing dual dtvb recorded image playback size

1 - Could be zoom or overscan.

Your TV should support 1:1 pixel mapping or 'Just Scan'. Make sure this is on.

If that doesn't help, hit ctrl-shift z on the keyboard to toggle through the 4 zoom settings. See if that helps.

2 - I use the Asus 8500GT 512, single slot, passively cooled card in my Fusion. No HDMI though, so if you need sound through HDMI it won't suit.

Re: reducing dual dtvb recorded image playback size

Hi Dgaust

thanks for your advice - your control shift Z worked like a charm - so that I can learn from this could you tell me what the toggle control if affecting - it changes the image size etc but where is it the tuner card or the on board graphics?

Thanks also for your suggestions for graphics card but would prefer HDMI

Re: reducing dual dtvb recorded image playback size

You can use the function on all video playback, so it's more on the video stream end not the tuner card.

They're independent as well, so the zoom on livetv can be different to the zoom on videos etc.
