XP SP3 and Tuner Card Issues

I've been experimenting with "upgrading" from Vista to XP SP3 MCE and have found that it refuses to find my tuner cards, being a compro T750 and a Flyview Prime 34, even with the Mainconcept encoder. I have not had a problem with either of these cards and am wondering if anyone else is having similar issues.

If anyone has any clues, I'd really appreciate it, as it has really stumped me.

Cheers all,

Tony

Re: XP SP3 and Tuner Card Issues

this is obiviously a clean install yes? Do you do all system updates first then general drivers then up to date Tuner card drivers

Certainly do. The tuners all work with XP SP2, but the SP3 refuses to see the them.

Re: XP SP3 and Tuner Card Issues

tbergman,

Surely the answer is self evident. Get rid of SP3, lots of people have had problems with it, it seems to be unfriendly to MCE. Ask yourself what do you need it for?

The bad news is that because it seems to be so invasive just removing it does not help, I understand only a fresh install or re-image to an image prior to its installation works.

Craig.

Re: XP SP3 and Tuner Card Issues

I had the same problem so I re-formatted again and did a clean install of WinXP SP2. I then installed the tuner drivers and got it working properly and then installed SP3. Now working perfectly.

cheers
