Tuner problems

Hi

I recently had to put my htpc into a shop for fixing due to HDD problems. the unit has come back in working order except for the tv tuners. I have two Avermedia tuner cards A16A which are not recognized in MCE. I have tried reinstalling the cards, the drivers, FFDSHOW etc with no luck.

Can anyone advise what to do next? Or if i go back to the start what order of events i should follow?

Re: Tuner problems

Did they replace the HDD and hence reload Windows? You said HDD problems, some information on what they did would help.

In short if the shop did do a re-installation (assumption on my part) you will not easy, or in some cases without in-depth investigation be able to tell what they really did. You may want to read Bella's guide on loading an MCE from scratch and decide if that is what you want to do. I am not sure of your skill level and would hesitate suggesting a complete reload for a novice. While its relatively straight forward you could get a bit lost and frustrated, having said that it sounds broken now, so why not.

Alternatively you could just go back and get the shop to help you out.

Re: Tuner problems

Hi

I loaded up powercinema. Poiwercinema works fine as a standalone program with all features working well. However when i try MCE i still get tuner problems with live tv still coming up with the message "video error" etc.

Is there settings somewhere I should be playing with to move from nvidia to powercinema?
