Question Upgrade tips for dual tuner card

We currently have two single digital tuner cards by compro, (Compro DVB-T300 PCI).

We want to upgrade to one dual High def card but don't know what would be best. We are currently looking at the Compro VideoMate Vista T750F, a PCI interface dual DVB-T and analog TV/FM tuner card.

What are your thoughts on this card? Any other suggestions that may be better?

Here is a rundown of the rest of our system for those who are curious:

-Silverstone LC14M box w/remote control in black.
-Intel Pentium 4 631 3.0Ghz LGA775 65nm *processor
-DVD-RW Pioneer 16x +/- R 8x DL *DVD player/writer
-2 x Digital TV Tuner Card Compro DVB-T300 PCI *TV tuner card
-DLink Mimo wireless adapter (for wireless networking to other PC's)
-Logitech cordless Desktop MX-3100 (mouse and keyboard combo)
-D-Link Mimo Wireless Router/Modem. (for wireless networking to other PC's)
-3.5" HDD SATA-300 300GB Western Digital *harddrive
-S775 AGP & PCI-e Gigabyte GA-8VT880P-Combo
-2GB RAM
-GeForce 9600 GT *graphics card

Base Software:
-Windows XP Media Centre Edition (Rollup 2 installed)
-AVG Anti virus
-Skype (for online teleconferencing)
-Other miscellaneous apps & games.

Thanks,
Nadia

That's not a dual DVB-T plus single analogue card - it's one of each (misleading description). The E700 is dual DVB-T, but it has quite a few strikes against it here. The DigitalNow S2 Dual Hybrid PCIe & their Tiny Twin USB, & the Hauppauge HVR-2200 are probably the popular picks at the moment.

Re: Upgrade tips for dual tuner card

The Hauppauge Nova-T 500 is probably the pick of the dual tuner PCI bunch. It had problems when first released, but it seems to be fine these days. Steer clear of the Dvico options.

USB is a viable option - the DigitalNow TinyTwin has had great reviews.

Any paticular reason why you're swapping from 2 singles to a dual card? It may be more trouble than it's worth.

We recently upgraded the graphics card because it kept overheating and shutting down the pc at random times. It was very annoying especially when in the middle of a TV show. We upgraded to one more powerful graphics card that has a cooling fan on it.

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of room in our box between the pci slots, so the new graphics card is sitting far to close to one of the two tuner cards and not really allowing much heat to escape.

Plus, replacing two tuners with 1 dual tuner will free up another pci slot because we are already using all of them.

Disagree. I have no issues at all with this card, and I am on the fringe of our local reception area. Channel changes are fast, animation is stable with a less than perfect signal.

The card is a gem when compared tos that DVICO ****e, but then, that wouldn't be too hard.

regards

I didn't say that nobody has this card working well, I said that it has quite a few strikes against it. Plenty of people have Dvico Duals working fine too.....
