Help Save a life - No Audio from Leadtek 2000xp RM

Hi all,

I'm setting up a XP MCE rig for my brother so he'll leave mine alone.

I'm still ironing out a couple of bugs, nut the biggest is that I get no audio from the tuner card, which is a Leadtex 2000 XP RM.

Is there something in the settings I'm missing to get the audio to work?

The set-up is as follows:-

1.8G P4
Intel board (don't know what type as I bought the whole pc from cash convertors for $40)
512M Ram
Gigabyte FX5200 card. (Doesn't work under Vista, so this was a good chance to get rid of it and improve WAF slightly)
40G Hard drive.

Please help me out, otherwise if I can't get this to work he'll be hogging my remote and I may have to kill him.

Thanks guys,

Tony

tbergman,

I beleieve the tv card is an analogue card with hardware mpeg encoding?

What codecs if any have you installed for audio?

Craig.

Hi Craig,

It is an analogue card, I don't know that it has a hardware encoder, I have the main concept encoder loaded.

I'm using the Soundmax audio drivers that came with the pc and the xp codec pack from the net.

Hi tbergman,

Had anotherlook at Leadtek's site, it seems I misunderstood what they were saying, the card does not have onboard encoding.

All I can suggest is try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. Have absolutely no experience with analogue cards, sorry.

Craig
