Question Recording - MCE2005 or DNTV!Live

I am wondering what people feel is the best program to use for recording? I have only really used MCE2005 but am not sure if maybe DNTV!Live is better.

If you have DNTV!Live you should have DNTVscheduler (a version of webscheduler) as well. DNTVscheduler is probably the best option out of all three.

So you recommend DNTVscheduler over MCE2005?

Re: Recording - MCE2005 or DNTV!Live

For recording, if you're not absolutely tied to doing things via a 10' interface then yes, I would recommend it. It's a lot more configurable than the recording options in either Vista/MCE2005.

You can also record DVR-MS into the recorded TV folder of MCE2005 and it'll show up there.

In my order of preference it is

DNTVScheduler
MCE2005
DNTV!Live.

Note: I don't use DNTVScheduler for my recordings anymore, as it's just simpler for the wife to use Vista MCE.

Second that - Webscheduler is brilliant. I have it on a separate PC with a tuner card to do all my scheduled recordings, and it saves them to a directory that my Media center PC can see. Means that I can watch TV on either PC if I want to, and can record without impacting what someone wants to watch on the main media center PC.

I was playing around with it before and it was starting to annoy me so I left it. It didn't seem to be able to pickup all the channels in the guide. Probably because I live in Tassie
