avertv remote

going ok
installed mce
all updates
got dtv 7 9 10 etc
got epg runner working
installed all codecs to watch mkv files (nothin to do with this but felt proud lol)
got hybrid pcie tuner to analoge
everything seemed to be going fine after lots of searching this forum for answers until....


im able to scan and view austar but the next step asks for a mce remote, which i havent got?


so cant get past 'no mce ir device'

is there anyway to use the avertv remote?

The problem isn't actually the lack of MCE remote, it's the lack of the MCE Remote's receiver & specifically the IR blaster buds that come with it. MCE won't just work with "AV in" or "AV 1" - it needs to be able to change the STU's channels itself & it does that with the receiver & buds.

I bit of searching & you'll find out all about it.

cheers, so i do need the ir reciever even though the avertv hybrid came with one?
