Thumbs down Avermedia hybrid is snow fun

Hi all, does anyone know what causes picture noise and any solutions to eliminate it?

My Avermedia hybrid cardbus E506 is noise free crystal clear with digital but analogue is like watching sattelite during a snowstorm. I've tried s-video, composite and scart direct from the Foxtel IQ but no difference. I can record from the IQ to VHS tape with a good picture but it seems to me that the analogue part of the Hybrid card is just well, possum bollocks.

Is a DVD recorder the only sure way to get decent quality archiving from Foxtell. Ta.

Toshiba P100 with MCE2005
IQ to TV with Scart/Component
DVD to TV with S-video
Foot to dog with size 10 boot
