VIA usb driver update improves DVICO Dual Digital 4 performance

I installed the following driver update.

http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...0&SubCatID=122

Even though my 2 DD4's were working properly, I thought I'd try this update. It has slashed my channel change time considerably. Also if I select live TV from the guide I no longer see a wait symbol - it goes straight to TV and a moment later the picture appears.

This driver update is supposed to improve compatability for the VT6212 chip (used on the DD4) so may resolve stability issues some people are having.

Good luck.

Hey dog,

This driver appears to be only for Windows XP? Is that what you are running? THe Nova-T-500 also uses the 6212 I believe, but there appears to be no driver for Vista.

Yes, I'm MCE 2005. I noticed the driver isn't for Vista and couldn't say whether it could be used. Something to try when you have time to fix your VMC if it breaks! Vista may already have the updates incorporated.

I must say I'm still amazed by the change in performance. I got my borther to install it on his machine and his DD4 is changing channels in 1/4 of the time it used to take too.

Yes, the Nova T500 has the same USB chip and would probably run better with the improved drivers.
