Generic USB tuner

Hi Guys,

I've only just registered but i've been reading this forum for about 2 months now.

I have a generic usb tune from ebay that i bought for $28, it works great with the BlazeTV, nero and Vista media centre but i cant get it to work on MCE05, it just says no tuner found. any hints coz i would really like to have tv intergrated into my Gameex/MCE machine.

Thanks

Re: Generic USB tuner

Do drivers get installed in WinXP MCE???

maybe Vista has the drivers built in but for XP you need to download them....

Re: Generic USB tuner

The cd that come in the package contains the BDA drivers for the tuner, for both vista and XP systems i inserted the cd then pulgged in the stick, installed BlazeTV software. so basically i did the same thing for both, Vista worked and XP didn't Thanks for the quick reply though.

Re: Generic USB tuner

Look in device manager under Sound, Video & Game controllers & see if the tuner is listed as WDM or BDA. If it's WDM (or anything other than BDA), you will need to manually install the BDA drivers from the CD.

Re: Generic USB tuner

I hope for your sake that it's an AF9015 & not an AF9005:

Afatech drivers

It says that the AF9005 can't be used in Media Center.

Thumbs down Re: Generic USB tuner

Thanks for the effort, i guess i'll have to stick with blazetv, at least the remote works with it. i wonder if launch blaze through gameex which is incorporated into MCE....

Edit: what am i thinking. it worked on vista so there must be just some small incompatibility. and why spoil my system with Blaze

Re: Generic USB tuner

OK I've had a look at the tuner, It comes up as "CE6230 standalone driver (BDA)" which is the BDA drivers from the disk.

any thoughts?
