Exclamation VMC not recognising AV output of digital card

Hi,

Ive been reading some old threads that mention Media centre doesn't detect analogue AV outputs from digital cards. Is this still true of newer Vista Media Center?

I'm trying to get Foxtel going on MCE with my DTV1000T card, with no luck. The only input it recognises is the Aerial RF cable.

I'm hoping someone might know of a solution to this. It works fine using Winfast PVR.

Thanks!

Re: VMC not recognising AV output of digital card

A friend and I worked out the other day that his graphics card under Vista; The VIVO functions work with the drivers on CD or go away when the ones from Microsoft download are installed. Is it possible that your problems are the same?
And yes Vista will only work with digital sources OR analogue sources unless hacked.

Re: VMC not recognising AV output of digital card

Hi Redwight,

I'm not sure if its the same prob. The drivers that came with the cd were not compat with vista, so i downloaded them from the leadtek site.

This hack you are talking about... do you know where i might find more info about it?

Looks like to easiest solution is to buy an analogue card for the time being...

Re: VMC not recognising AV output of digital card

If your analog card doesn't have an onboard MPEG2 encoder & BDA drivers (yours doesn't) then you need a software encoder for the card to be seen & work in MCE. Get one from here.

The Mainconcept one is the most popular, but the Arcsoft one is the one Leadtek recommend.

It's here for MCE and possibly works with Vista also. I'm still in analogue only territory here; I was trying to get sattelite Free To Air and analogue going but ended up going analogue only.
