Re: Sydney EPG Queries

Hey Everyone,

Just set up MCE with a Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus card. I want to set up the EPG but can't find any instructions that are digital specific.

Anyone out there have any advice?

Thanks

IceTV provide data for all digital stations in the majority of capitol cities now (just Perth and Darwin to go at the moment) and there is a guide that has been compiled to help people setup and test it out. (IceTV does offer a 7-day trial now as well).

Hope this helps.

Hi Daniel, I'm assming you work for IceTV. I saw the IceTV site and the statement that the guide is not yet available for Media PC. I have also followed some of the threads which talk about getting a Guide to work using some other packages. Which should I use? Is there an estimate on when IceTV will become available for the PC? I'd certainly like to sign up if I could get it reliably for my area (Canberra)

IceTV is available for whichever platform someone wishes to use it on. We provide the data in a superset of the XMLTV standard. So far we have tested and it works great with Mediaportal, SageTV, BeyondTV, Showshifter, MCE2005, MythTV and a couple of others I can't think of right now...

The only problem with MCE2005 is that there is no official support for IceTV or even XMLTV in general without third party apps. Quickguide has been tested to work extremely well with the iceguide data.

The officially supported apps (with instructions on using iceguide with them on our website) are ShowShifter, SageTV, DigiTV.

As for Canberra it is currently not 100% supported, though at the moment you should be able to use the Sydney channel data keeping in mind that 1-2 shows each day will be different.

Cheers,

Daniel.
