Do i need to set MCE to autodownload or manual EPG?

Hi,

I now have FreeXMLTV and BRP configured to show the guide in MCE 8). I have scheduled a task to run each day to run the freeXMLTV and BRP exe's. When I configured the guide in MCE I set it to manual is this correct?

thanks

Only if you want to manually update every couple of days.

Set it to automatic, it will say something about connecting to the internet, but ignore that. BRP fools MCE to look locally for the EPG and it thinks it's looking at a web site.

Upgraded mine to BRP v#.0 with FreeXMLTV this morning - no problems, just the usual pain of having to rescan for channels and redoing channel order etc again.

Of course - you do have an image of your current config..

Re: Do i need to set MCE to autodownload or manual EPG?

yes will re-image. I had all sorts of problems with ghost over the weekend. I had made several images when doing my install then went to go back to one of then and it just blue screens when I boot off the ghost CD. What a waste of money, so I downloaded acronis software and am using that now. I write a install summary next week when I get a chance.

I'm using DriveImage XML - a freebie that is great. Combined with Bart-PE, you can boot from a CD, run DriveImage XML and either back-up or restore. Beautiful and free!

Tried it on numerous occasions while playing with codecs and it really works a treat.
