Help an EPG noob

Hey All,

After many, many, many nights, I've finally got my Media Centre up and running. Yay !

I'm having issues now with the EPG, though.

I found a tutorial on this forum ( can't for the life of me find that thread again! ).
I followed all the steps , installed OzTivo, Bladerunner Pro.

When I run Bladerunner, I get the following error:

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...ink/errors.jpg

So I'm obviously missing some files, but I'm not entirely sure where to get them ! or do I create them ?

Does this standout to anyone as something they can help me with ?
Are there any "Idiot Guides to EPG" out there ?

Apologies if this question has been asked a million times.

Re: Help an EPG noob

If you live in Australia the easiest EPG to set up is Free epg downloadable from this site.

Re: Help an EPG noob

Yeah, forgot to mention, I'm in Australia, Sydney to be precise.

I've tried Free*EPG, but when I go to update the guide in MCE, it throws up errors.

Perhaps because I've tried another EPG before going Free*EPG, it has screwed things up ?
Is there some way i can clean it out and start again? ( without rebuilding ?)

What's your recommended procedure for getting Free*EPG up and running ?

Re: Help an EPG noob

Do a system restore (if you can) of before you installed all the crap. Than use the MCE reste tool and scan again. Free EPG is very easy to set up.

Re: Help an EPG noob

Thanks for the replies, fellas.

I've cleaned up my system, run the MCE Cleanup utility.
Now when I try to attach to the web, I get as fas as the point where I enter the postcode, which I enter as 000 ( so says the FreeEPG guide ) but it throws back an error saying "TV Program guide listings are not available for the postal code you entered"

Help

EDIT:I just changed it to my actual post code...and bingo !

Someone update the doco

Re: Help an EPG noob

Sorry, what do you mean by that ?
( I know, I know. But I'm learning, I really am !! )

Ok, I installed Free*EPG.
Ran my MCE 'setup'. it downloaded 'a' guide, then I did a channel scan.
What I have noticed is that it has only populated ABC HDTV, ABC2, ABCTV. the rest of the guide is EMPTY.

SO how do I do what you just suggested ?

Re: Help an EPG noob

Keep thefollowing in mind for the future:

After a channel scan:

Edit channels (disablke the ones you do not want)
Change channel order
Add listings to channels
Wait for the next thing to go wrong
