Clear down/replace the whole Guide in MCE

Hi All, this is my first post so I'll try not to be too stoopid...

Firstly a BIG thanks to Impact and all you other guys who have worked really hard to write this stuff, it's truly superb!

I have read lots on this forum about EPGs and I have installed BladeRunnerPro v3 and FreeXMLTV (with v.4.9 fix) and after quite a lot of fiddling with Challelinfo.xml (to change the channel no.s for Foxtel digital) I have managed to get EPG.bat to run successfully.

I'm having problems getting the right channels into the guide with the correct FOD channel numbers, and my understanding was that the whole Guide in MCE would be replaced if I did the following:

1 - Edit Channelinfo.xml to my requirements (FOD channel numbers, shorten names)
2 - Run EPG.bat
[2.1 - FreeXMLTV grabs program info and builds listing2.xml]
[2.2 - BRP reads listing2.xml and (amongst other things) builds guide.bin]
3 - In MCE select "Get Latest Guide Listings" to read guide.bin into MCE

But MCE somehow manages to "remember" things I did days ago (I think its all the stuff I have manually edited/added) and this is often all that appears - none of the channels in channelinfo.xml are there. So I re-configure the Guide with postcode 0000 etc and do "Get Latest Guide Listings" again and all the channels appear - twice!! so I have 160-odd channels, half with the correct FOD numbers and half with channel numbers 1,2,3,4... etc - (obviously from an earlier attempt with the original channelinfo.xml)

So questions:
1 - How can I clear down the Guide in MCE to start from scratch - is this possible?
2 - Can I avoid doing manual channel number editing within MCE if I configure channelinfo.xml correctly from the start.
3 - Which component(s) reference channelinfo.xml, just BRP or FreeXMLTV too?
4 - Am I barking up the wrong tree or just barking mad... ;-)

Thanks heaps

Re: Clear down/replace the whole Guide in MCE

You have to be careful what you wish for... last night everything in my Guide disappeared and whatever I try I can't get ANY channels to show up!!

I tried re-configuring the TV signal, channels etc, running EPG.bat and it all seems to work (ie. no error messages) but when I display the guide it says all channels have been removed!

Would running the MCE Reset Tool be a sensible thing to try?

Channelinfo file attached

Thanks
