A few weeks ago, ExtremePC mentioned that our logo was looking a little tired and asked if I minded if he came up with a new design. I was happy to review any suggestion fpr improvement given that it had been over a year since I'd refreshed the previous skin and we were probably due for a new look.
Well rather than just re-doing the logo, Extreme came up with a complete set of new buttons and background images and after a fair bit of back & forth, an all new header was born. Once the new header was in place I asked Extreme to create new category backround images to match, and because it all looked so nice, I decided to complete the transformation by making a change to our base font. We've gone from Tahoma to Trebuchet MS however, because of the font change, identifying new posts in threadview was more difficult since Trebuchet does not "bold" very well. As a result and following a suggestion by Logifuse, I added an inline style tag for the new post links and they now appear as bright blue whereas posts that you've read show as a normal black link.
The Moderators have been playing with the new skin for a week or so and they seem to have taken to it, so I figured t was time to unveil it. If you're not sure at first, give it some time and I'm sure it will grow on you. There are a couple of areas around the place which don't draw from the forum skin and will still show the old skin until I can get to around to fixing them.
In closing I'd like to pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to ExtremePC for the effort he put in to provide the new header design & associated images,, I'm sure you'll agree that he has an emerging talent when it comes to graphic design.
Enjoy!
Mike

Hi Mike,
Not that I dislike new font, but what was wrong with Tahoma?

I like, although I must admit it was only after I read this thread that I noticed the new banner design.... it's very nice, well done Extreme and Mike.
Now all I need is my nice shiny Grand Poobah graphic and i'll be sweet
