No it's not automatic. They are 2 quite different areas, I coded the member profile page to allow a permanent record of your system, the signature area is really for any purpose (within the rules of course), with many using it for hardware specs and others linking to their blog, XBox gamer profile etc.
I used to have it all in my sig but it can start to look cluttered, so instead I added a link to my profile using some bb code like this:
PHP Code:
[url="http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/members/Mike"][b][color="SlateGray"][size="1"]my media centre[/size][/color][/b][/url]
and you can see how it shows up at the bottom. Then if anybody needs to see what gear I'm using, it's only a click away.
If on the other hand you'd prefer to use your signature, use the same principles so that something like this:
PHP Code:
[size="1"][color="Gray"]OS: Vista Ultimate; Case: SilverStone SST-LC03; Motherboard: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R; CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300;RAM: Corsair (2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM ); HDD(s): 2 X Samsung (400 GB); Tuner(s): 2 X Avermedia A16A; GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT; Remote: Microsoft MCE Remote; Display Type & connection used: Samsung PS42S5H HD Plasma via VGA[/color][/size]
will put this in your signature.
OS: Vista Ultimate; Case: SilverStone SST-LC03; Motherboard: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R; CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300;RAM: Corsair (2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM ); HDD(s): 2 X Samsung (400 GB); Tuner(s): 2 X Avermedia A16A; GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT; Remote: Microsoft MCE Remote; Display Type & connection used: Samsung PS42S5H HD Plasma via VGA
Hope that helps,
Mike
