Forum to show your MCE/Entertainment setup

Can we have a Forum to post how you setup you MCE/TV/Entertainment Equipment.
To Post photos of your setup and how you did it.

I just moved and wanted to mount my tv and put my AV stuff in a different room and i spent a few weeks trawling the web looking at other sites trying to get ideas and stuff on how I wanted to do my setup.

I think it would be good to have one here to help other Australians, cause when you read online from other sites, and people say where they got something from its kinda hard when we dont even have those stores in Australia.

It also helps those on limited budget and want to do it themselves to see and follow other peoples examples.

Re: Forum to show your MCE/Entertainment setup

We used to have a forum where members could show and talk about their systems, but given that nobody posted to it for over a year and I needed space for the Vista forums, I removed it. I'd be reluctant to re-instate it unless there was sufficient demand.

With that in mind, if you'd like to start a poll in the pub and enough people support the idea, we can give it a go.

In the meantime, we have the gallery where pics can be posted along with detailed descriptions.

Re: Forum to show your MCE/Entertainment setup

"a forum where members could show and talk about their systems". That is exactly what I am looking for! As you said, no point in it if no one posts to it. I'm really surprised at that. Getting the HTPC setup to work is a real achievement and I would have thought users would be proud to talk about what they had built.

I've just joined the forum was hoping to find a section where other users listed their systems and discussed what had worked for them. I guess I'm looking for shortcut to something that works rather having to troll through entire site to build a picture of what should work. That is how I came across this thread...I'm starting at the top of the forum and working my way down.

I find it useful that people often list their components in their signature but it would still be nice to see people do a own review of their systems. To point out the bits that work well but more importantly the bits the just don't work so well (i.e. so others can avoid their problems and look for alternatives).

The issue that concerns me at this point is potentially wasting time, effort and money by building a system that isn't reliable. My main concern is that the PVR functions of the system are 100% dependable. If I can't rely on the timers to fire and record my TV shows then I'm better off sticking with standalone PVR boxes.

Maybe there is a thread in here that will tell me what I need to know, but at this point it looks like I've got some heavy duty reading to do
