No worries, will just have to type them in until I can fix the problem, it may be something to do with the change in the form of internet connecction my ISP has enacted here, my connection is using a wireless link, not a wireless router to a cable but something similar to a mobile phone, it was working on a 3G network but now is on a 2g network.
I once worked with a number of Russians, in Kazakhstan, I had, and believe still have, great difficulty with their sense of humor, especially their anecdotes, it of course was my problem not theirs. Just a slightly different outlook on life.
Humor and one's sense of it is a product of ones experiences, upbringing and the society in which you live. Having lived and worked in numerous countries and numeous different cultures has demonstrated stark differences in this regard over certain matters but also shown how similar we all are.
Craig.
Should also add I had great difficulty keeping up with their drinking, but learnt fast.

True. Some jokes are very cultural, sharing 10 years of my life with an Irish girlfriend told me so
But humor can be more common thing more than dividing - and sarcasm is definitely common in English and Russian culture.
Star Trek jokes are very cultural, for example - but it unites us as a sub-culture of Trekkie's - above nations.
So jokes are good thing, and humor is what separates the race of smart people from the rest.
