Suggested Forum changes

Just wondering. I'm not a big poster, but I frequently read these forums. If you're taking it offline, any chance of maybe making some changes to the forum?

My 2cents (yes, now rounded to 0, I know) are the following:
1) Split the video card / audio card forums. I've got a MCE setup that I'm playing with.. and just looking for specific advice about audio cards would be nicer.

2) The 'Home Theatre' forum contains a mish mash of different info about different screens. I (like lots of other people I assume) am looking around for a good large display.
My question/suggestion is: could you add a forum where people can post great prices seperately 1) LCD's 2) Plasma's 3) Projectors 4) CRTs. Also divided into SD and HD.
We're all shopping for a bargain... so it would be good to have people post about bargains (place/price) and other people comment about the experiences with those models.

These are just the things that I personaly would like.. but I think they're good ideas!!

What do you think?

Re: Suggested Forum changes

First off - thanks for taking the time to post your suggestions - unfortunately, it's unlikely that I'll be making the suggested changes for the reasons I've added below

We used have them as separate forums when we only supported MCE 2005. When Vista was released I had to double up on "Video/Audio Cards" to be able to cover the different issues for both platforms - to further split them down would create more forums (we already have too many) and would not really enable better support. As far as PCI cards (or on board equivalents) are concerned - it's worth noting that since we first started, most of the problems have been tuner related which is why there is a tuner specific forum for each OS.

I do understand - but the danger is that as a website like this one continues to grow - we can be tempted to try and become all things to all people and lose sight of our "raison d'être".

We are a technical support community for Windows based Media Center Computers, if we start branching out into other areas, we'd quickly be awash in hundreds of different forums because the areas related to our primary function are virtually endless.

But again - thanks for your ideas!

Mike
