Server Tweaked

After coming back to an obvious slow down in server performance at the end of last week, I asked my mate Harry to take a look at a few of the server configs (Apache & Mysql etc.) which can affect VBulletin efficiency. Well today he spent a couple of hours online with me and we both think it feels a lot better - thanks Harry!

Problem is it's Sunday so it's a little hard to get an accurate picture without a normal load.

So when you've had a bit of a play, please add any relevant comment to this thread if you notice any improvement - or otherwise. As we all know, tweaking configs can be a bit of trial and error so Harry will be keeping an eye on things for me over the next few days.

Tell Harry he is a genius as you are as well.

Another comment: when I was downloading a massive file today my connection (256k/64k) usually slows to a crawl but this site loaded quite fast.

You have both done an excellent job.

Still a little slow to load and pages and post comments, although thanks for keeping on top of the issues, any idea how we can fix this for the next Server period?

That was quicker for this post though...is it thread size dependant at all?

hey guys, I just noticed its crawling , i have adsl2 24mbit connection, and it takes 26 seconds to generate a thread, thats pretty slow

I was thinking just yesterday that the entire site felt a little snappier than usual. Now I guess I know why.
