Password recovery up the creek

The password I thought I was using for this website doesn't work (Firefox is logging me in but there is no listing for xpmediacentre in my passwordlist )

So I try to recover it. The email arrives and says click the link to go to the page where the password can be reset.

I get to the page and it tells me that I tried to change the password more than 24 hours ago so I need to start again. Doh!

Who's looking after the website? Joseph Heller?

No - just me.

OK - I've tried to duplicate the problem as follows:

Also using Firefox but with a test user (let's call him XYZ) I already have set up, I tried to login in with the wrong password. The system rejected me and asked if I wanted to have a new password emailed - I said yes.

In hotmail I received:

"Dear XYZ,

You have requested to reset your password on Australian Media Center Community because you have forgotten your password. If you did not request this, please ignore it. It will expire and become useless in 24 hours time.

To reset your password, please visit the following page: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...u=4&i=78518411

When you visit that page, your password will be reset, and the new password will be emailed to you.

Your username is: XYZ

To edit your profile, go to this page: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...do=editprofile

All the best,
Australian Media Center Community"

I clicked the link and was informed:

"Your password has now been reset and emailed to you. Please check your email to find your new password."

Checked hotmail and received:

"Dear XYZ,

As you requested, your password has now been reset. Your new details are as
follows:

Username: XYZ
Password: 123456

To change your password, please visit this page:
http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...o=editpassword

All the best,
Australian Media Center Community"

Went back to the main page and logged in successfully using the new password - went to my UserCP and changed it back to my old one - logged out and back in again just to test it and had no problems.

So it works fine for me.

Mike
