Some body else reported this one a while back ..it idn't produce any response ... here's hoping that has a clue on on this one.
OS : Vista Ultimate 32bit + TV pack + all up-to-date patches of both
OS (Backup clone) : Vista Ultimate 32bit + TV pack + as patched about 9 months
TV Card : Hauappauge HVR 2200
Every now and then I noticed that the channels magically a doubled up but an quick rescan usually fixes that. By double up I mean 1,1,2 ABC,2 ABC ,3 SBS ,3 SBS etc. Usually the second channel shows nothing and not all the the channels are doubled up.
This time it will not go away. It looks VMC thinks the dual tuner card is two independent tuners [ although not all chennels duplicated], before it would merge the same channels into one.
Its been up and running for about 18 months and rebuilt about 9 months ago. Usually not connected to the internet. When I do I turn on the virus scanner and get all the latest OS and virus scanner updates and then pull the connection. Do a virus scan and once done stop the virus scanner as it is no longer connected to the internet. I thought recent changes might have impacted the setup but it appears not to be the case.
When I initaitially set it up I patched and updated OS and all drivers. After a hassle free week I cloned the hard drive. Booting up from the cloned hard drive produces the same doubling up of scanned channels. That tells me it may not be a VMC issue better rather one coming out the TV card.
Any ideas?
Cheers JJM

Although I'm a Linux newbie I thought I'd throw some more info into the pot about the hvr-2200 driver being in the 2.6.32 kernel.
There is a new revision of the Hauppauge HVR-2200 hardware (8940)...
