    Great work Mark and team.
Very Quick reply to my email.

I live on the Gold Coast and had the No channel 10 problem. This fix worked ten out of ten pardon the pun.

    Thanks again.
Now If only logitech would fix my keyboard charging and keeping the pc from entering sleep.

Re: Hauppauge HVR-2200 Gold Coast RESOLVED

    +1 recommendation for this fix!

I've been using a Leadtek DTV2000H in my Vista Media Centre for 18 months and have never been able to tune Channel 10 or 10HD, being forced to use Leadtek's bundled PVR software instead due to the amount of TV we watch on Channel 10.

As soon as I read about this fix I ordered the HVR-2200, card arrived todayy, installed the new card today over lunch and everything tested perfectly!

I finally will be able to use my VME to its full and intended capability.

Massive thank you to Hauppague, the guys at New Magic, and all others involved in creating this fix!!

    Hi,

Note there has been a WHQL release now of this driver at www.newmagic.com.au/vista , but you still need to do the registry mods for Gold Coast. These mods can't be built into the driver as they would effect other regions of the world.

    Thanks Mark,

I am a little confused by your announcement.

I live in Perth so is the new driver applicable to me or is it only for Gold Coast users?

Also do I have to do the registry mod (if so which one - autoOffset_No or autoOffset_Yes) or is the registry mod only for Gold Coast users?

Thanks for a great product and great service.

Re: Hauppauge HVR-2200 Gold Coast RESOLVED

Unfortunately, I lost Channels 10 and SBS. It happens last two weeks, which I contribute to the latest Vista updates that came from MS for VMC. I live in Sydney and didn't have problems before, now the card doesn't scan 10 and SBS at all. It only locks &, 9 and ABC.
    I run Vista 32-bit version.

The funny thing is that Win 7 MC detects all channels including 10 and SBS plus channels 4x, but wouldn't play Ch 1, 11 and 4x channels.

IMO it must be related to the latest MS updates. Would it be safe to remove them? I'm referring to the cumulation update fir VMC KB960544.

This question is for Mark @ Newmagic.
As a a Gold Coast user who has been running the trial update and registry hack for some time now, with everything working fine.
When I update to the new driver do I need to mess with the registry hack or just update the driver and leave it at that??

What issues have been resolved / addressed?

I updated VMC with the TV Pack and I don't get ONE HD and I'm in Sydney and not in a rural area! All other channels are fine, just not ONE HD.

    Hi,

01-0077 - The new driver is for everyone running HVR-2200. If you're not located in the Gold Coast or a couple of other regional areas effected by a repeater issue you don't need the reg patch at all.

bushwalker - are you running TV Pack for VMC?

markc3012 - Updating the drvier should not effect the registry change but to be safe check its still there after installing the update. The issues resolved in the udpate don't really apply to Australia but it is a Microsoft certified driver now.

No, Mark, I'm not running TV Pack for VMC. I rang Customer support at New Magic and they couldn't help me, which I find interesting. Their advice was to update my MB with the latest BIOS? Overall very useless advices. It looked very scripted to me without adressing the real issues. Where is the problem? VMC or HVR-2200. Let me repeat what I said before. MC running under Windows 7 on the same MB does lock those channels, so it must be problem between HVR-2200 and VMC. Customer support at NM ignored comment about card working without any issues a few weeks ago before the Ch 10 and SBS changes.
BTW, I'm running DNTV card on my media PC with Vista 64-bit and don't have those issues with Ch 10 and SBS. Should I be dumping HVR-2200 and switch to DNTV?

Edit: OK, guys, here's the latest. Since nobody would advise me whether it is safe to remove the afore mentioned cumulative patch for VMC, I did it anyway, and it worked. Now it locks Ch 10, but not SBS or Ch 4x. So people, avoid installing cumulative patch for VMC until M$ sort out this issue with Hauppage or NM.

2nd Edit: Reverting back to previous driver release didn't help to get SBS and Ch 4x back, so that still remain an issue.

Re: Hauppauge HVR-2200 Gold Coast RESOLVED

    My results

    I installed MS updates
Restarted PC with and all channels are still working.
    Closed VMC
Started VMC again deleted all scanned services and scanned again.

Results All services scanned 10 and SBS are good too.

I dont think so its anything to do with MS updates or HVR2200 card.

Maybe I am just lucky but from now on 'll keep an eye for all the MS updates.
