Re: FIJI Has been Released!
Dunno about India.. But it is done for you in some back room and delivered via software updates if you choose to install it.
Actually. I'm pretty sure it's not India.. Anything outsourced there just fails to work at all.. Like Microsoft support!
Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
Well while we're on the subject of leaking (mis)information -
- It was programmed in Fiji (hence the name) - and it was delayed due to the millitary coupe and the local rugby season.
- It will support up to 360 simultaneous tuners and HD displays.
- You'll need to wait in an overnight queue at the Sydney Apple store if you want a copy of it. (Incidentally - it's now cross platform and will work on Apple OS/X, iPhone 3G, XBox 1440 and Surface)
oh and did I mention it's only designed to run on Windows 8 or later (thats the O/S after Windows 7 - due out in the virtual cloud of 2015).
But then again I might be wrong...

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
^^ Actually Ive read that Fiji will be very little, and that most of Fijis planned updates will be in Windows 7.
Dont want to wait another 18 months for a decent media centre update

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
Something shipped on the 16th, quote from:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...rss&spid=11734
"The Windows Media Center TV Pack was released on July 16, 2008. Not all computers that are shipped by hardware vendors in the retail channel have the Windows Media Center TV Pack installed. To check whether your computer has the Windows Media Center TV Pack installed, follow these steps:
1. Start Windows Media Center.
2. In the Start window, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, and then click General.
3. Click About Windows Media Center, and then click Software Version.
If the version is 6.1.1000.18273, you are running the Windows Media Center TV Pack.
If the version number is 6.0.6001.18000, you are not running the Windows Media Center TV Pack. You are running the version of Windows Media Center that is included in Windows Vista or in Windows Vista SP1."

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
In case anyone has missed the hints & the on the money speculation (EndgadgetHD):
IT WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA OEM DISTRIBUTION ONLY!
It won't be on Windows update.
It won't be available as a standalone download (not legitimately from MS anyway).
And I'll say it again, if you do manage to get your hands on it, I would recommend you do not install it on your main VMC as all of the associated items you need (especially guide data) will not work.

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
Well if you read the kb article from ms you will see that it has been released and that its to the OEM.
And the silence from the ms guys at TGB speaks volumes, useless as always from MS.

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
No it doesnt say its only to oem, but it does state that it has been released.
Now i have yet to see it up on the windows update page or anywhere else for that matter.
And there are a lot of people coming out with sources saying its OEM only.

Re: FIJI Has been Released!
Justin,
The guide data does work, SBS is only now and next but apart from that all the aother channels guides download completely. Whilst ths information the stations are broadcasting is "crap", eg, Capitals, misinformation, etc. it is there and you do not need to use plugins from third parties that either expire every other month, or cost money.
