Re: EASY Instructions for Adding Extra Tuners to VMC Update
Great post.
I have replaced my 2 DTV1000 cards with a HVR2200.
If I put 1 or both of the DTV1000 cards back in do you think they would work ok with the HVR2200?

Re: EASY Instructions for Adding Extra Tuners to VMC Update
Something is wrong at my end here - and I ponder if IceTV is the issue!
I did as you suggested - and with two back to back programs set to record - on the first one I manually set the 'hard' padding to be 15 mins - but at the end of the record - I got both programs with 4 mins padding either side.
The good news is they were programmed separately - the bad news is I only got 4 mins of padding!.
Damn IceTV - might try using it as a Guide - but stop the updating to see if that helps with the muck up with the padding!
Cheers all the same,
Col.

Re: EASY Instructions for Adding Extra Tuners to VMC Update
The option is available in both single and series, with shows running over time almost routinely it pays to hard pad everything.
If your using ICE TV interactive or related apps it might well be the issue. I remember there is a setting relating to padding. I have ICE but don't use any of the interactive apps.
Later,

Re: EASY Instructions for Adding Extra Tuners to VMC Update
I have it on authority from the official Australian Hauppauge distributor (via email) that some tuner cards people are getting from other sources are essentially foreign cards not suited for Australian conditions. in fact, a major brand VMC build company has been known to source cheap imports that are not designed specifically for the Australian market. please also keep this in mind if you have had problems getting more than 2 tuners to work. I wanted to post this in my original sticky thread but the forum denies access after so many days - also means I can't update data when it becomes available - which, quite frankly, is quite a pain!

Re: EASY Instructions for Adding Extra Tuners to VMC Update
ICE TV Remote unfortunately does not natively support the use of hard padding atm, only global soft-padding. I've asked for them to add a "global hard-padding" option but as with most of my requests it has fallen on deaf ears.

I personally use WebGuide to schedule series because when setting them up it is very easyt to add hard padding to a series and I can control my system the internet. So If I understand you very wise gents correctly, my system with 5 tuners & a media center extender should be configured like this?:

Record Pref----------0--------------0--------------0xffffffff------0xffffffff-------0xffffffff

I think you've got it. I'm no expert with extenders, but from re-reading Logifuse's post I think that's the set-up.
