This is the method i also use
It does tend to get tedious and when the computer is recording two shows and the main PC has lots of webpages loaded especially with flash the switch can be slow upto 10 seconds

Once and only once something went wrong with VMC and i could take the mouse from maximised VMC to desktop without any trouble if i wanted to change the channel i just pressed the green button did my thing and moved the mouse back to main screen.. things i did notice while this had accord even if i have focus given to VMC was that changing the volume did not bring up the little volume box. I dont know how i got into this state, i had the computer like it for 3 days before rebooting for an update and realising what i had DONE!!!
