    Nvidia Display Reverting to NTSC

    Hi all,

I upgraded my Nvidia drivers recently to the latest version to fix decoder problems. The decoder problems seem to be fixed, but I seem to have introduced a new one! For some reason, the display setting seems to revert to M/NTSC every couple of days, even though I set it specifically to B-PAL.

After I set it to PAL and save, I can reboot and it retains the same settings. But every couple of days, I will turn my PC on in the morning (I hibertnate it every night) and it reverts back to NTSC!! Very annoying!

I'm using a ASUS M2NPV-VM with onboard GeForce 6150 card. I originally was using the Nvidia driver version that came with the OEM CD, and have upgraded to:

    ForceWare Release 90
    Version: 93.71
    Release Date: November 2, 2006
    WHQL Certified

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jules

Cuteseal, do not use that driver. I had to re-image my rig because of color and other problems with this driver. The previous one is allright. I am not at home so I cannot remember the driver number. Do a quick mail to Glenr, he's using the same one and might remember.

    Thanks for the reply Bella...

In terms of viewing and display, the latest driver seems to work well for me. The only problem is the reverting back to NTSC.

With the old driver, the PureVideo decoder (223) seems to cause brief white flashes once in a while which was tolerable but annoying after a while. The latest one seems to have fixed it.

Re: Nvidia Display Reverting to NTSC

    Hi guys,

Thanks for all your advice. I finally gave up and uninstalled the nvidia drivers, and reinstalled the ones that come on the OEM CD.

Now the brief white flashes have disappeared, as well as the reverting to NTSC. Everything is perfect now! Go figure!

p.s. side story - when I uninstalled all the video drivers and rebooted, XP said that it had detected significant hardware changes and asked me to reactivate windows again!! What the? Anyway, re-activation was pretty easy, but still can't believe that just uninstalling drivers makes windows think that I've made changes to my hardware. geez..

I have exactly the same problem with the same motherboard and driver version.

with the oem drivers, when the scene changes sometimes I get a single fram flash up from the previous scene

any other fix for the ntsc?
I might try looking at the ini file that the driver installs with, it might have a default NTSC setting. sometimes companys forget that there are other countries outside of America
