    Re: I Have a working Vista/BRP/EPG system!!

Has anyone tried setting up a second Media Center that concumes the guide from the first Media Center?

Is it as easy as chcngeing the discSvc value?

    Hey Pete,
Any chance of putting these required files into a zip file with some instructions on how to install them into VMC as some of us (Me) only have vista, no MCE05 to copy from.

Having no luck bringing up the web pages have followed all instructions but get this when I load the pages in internet explorer:

My path is set to c:\windows\ehome\bladerunnerpro\ but the physical path in the error message seems to have double directories?

    Can anyone help please?

Exactly. Once 1 PC is generating the bin and serving up the files via the web server, any PC on the network (or the world if you set up a pinhole) can use the guide created (just might need to check IIS permissions maybe)

If you keep reading, (LONG thread) this doesn't turn out to be required.

My best guess is that there is a problem with the Virtual Directory in your IIS setup.
Try there first. The Physical Path being wrong is the clue

Thanks for your response but I don't know where to find virtual directory settings in IIS.

    Re: I Have a working Vista/BRP/EPG system!!

    Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum! I am from Greece! I am using a Technotrend budget s-1500 for satelite reception within Vista MCE! I am trying to configure EPG with tvxb and eventhought i thing i have everything right with the configuration (i followed the instructions at http://www.tvxb.com) and read almost every post in this thread i keep getting stopped while downloading the EPG at 61%, I press cancel and try to update the listings later with the get latest listings option in the MCE guide menu but then i get an error "A critical Windows Media Center process has failed. Please restart the computer...etc."!
! The guide.bin file is only 3kb (is that natural?) while the xml created by tvxb is 1,5MB! i doubled checked both listing2.xml and channelinfo.xml, i 've even deleted them and let them be created again but still no luck! i 've checked the Html files also and changed everything from file:\\ to http:// but still nothing! Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Re: I Have a working Vista/BRP/EPG system!!

Well, I finally achieved an EPG with vista, all I can advise is that I cut and pasted all the details here and just changed my pc name:

    http://www.tvxb.com/doc/Vista-Blader...structions.htm

These seemed to work better for me than the instructions on page 6 of this thread. The subtle differences of path names between the varying instructions in IIS and the data files in the native directory were the problems for me.
