    What settings are used instead of
    RecordOrder = 1
    RecordPrefered = 0xffffffff
    WatchOrder = 1
    WatchPrefered = 0xffffffff
    this is for analog card under services\video\tuners\ {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}\ {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}

    DTV =
    RecordOrder = 0
    RecordPrefered = 0
    WatchOrder = 0
    WatchPrefered = 0

    for people with 2 digital tuners + 1 analog for foxtel?

    Wixkidder,

    Impressive, to say the least!! I would be interested to see if this worked with Hybrid cards. I know there are some on the market that allow you to go through the setup of either Digital or Analogue on the same card, just at different times. If this could be achieved it would make Hybrid tuner cards the greatest. I personally would not have a use for the Analogue part, but the radio on my Hybrid card would be nuts, instead of buying an analogue card, and trying to find a PCI slot, just for radio.

    Rep points for you...

    {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion|Me

    diaCentre\Service\Video\Tuners
    Then click on the + on {A799A800-A46D-11D0-A18C-00A02401DCD4}

    Then click on the + off the analogue tuner and then click on the user settings for that

    tuner.
    On the right hand side modifie these:
    :EnabledForMCE =dword:ffffffff
    :UserDefName =(then name of tuner ie=713x BDA Analog TV Tuner)

    to get user def name you have to right click mouse and add new string value then

    call it= UserDefName and double click on it and enter tuner name.
    Don't worry about anything else just close and go to media centre and add your

    channels in media centre.
    If you have a problem get back to me.
    I hope this helps.

    Re: DTV and Analog TV Works (TOGETHER)

    Enable analoge fm tuner to work in media centre.
    It tells mediacentre you have analogue set up.
    Works on tuners with a BDA analogue tuner.
    Not sure if it works on wdm drivers i will give it a go tommorow using my winfast xp expert.
    If not youll have to use the winamp tv plugin and set winamp to full screen so it looks descent.

    Thanks for the explanation broadstar44.

    I've added all the reg entries but when I go to Radio to add channels I get "No Radio Hardware"..Any ideas?

    Re: DTV and Analog TV Works (TOGETHER)

    Sorry forgot to mention that to get the tuner name you have to back up that tuner to desktop and then when on desktop right click to edit or open and the tuner name will be there then go to the reg and put what it says there.
    if that doesn't work a way around is using a software m-peg 2 encoder plugin (mainconcept or cyberlink) that is compatible.you will get fm radio,and with a bit more hacking you will also get analogue tv,but i am happy with just fm radio.
    Mediacentre probly doesn't pick it up because mce doesn't know the card is there.With a software encoder plugin mce will grab it and f*ckit.
    I have a software encoder which works with my asus daul with out itmce won't touch. media centre tommrow i will see if it will work with my leadtek if it does i will try and post it it a 5.5 meg file.
    I use this get that card to work in media centre, i find it streams alot better in media centre link below.
    http://www.mainconcept.com/site/

    The main key to get analogue working in mce is the encoder.
    Mine is "PrefEncoder"="MainConcept (MCE) MPEG Encoder"

    Re: DTV and Analog TV Works (TOGETHER)

    Ive been PM`ing Broadstar and he/she has been supplying me with the same info here...so I`ll post here so others can see any outcome.

    Like psychonaut, ive added the registry entries, and MCE reports that I have no FM compatible hardware. Seems strange as I have the Avermedia Hybrid card(s) and noticed that they have BDA analogue drivers, so they 'should' work with MCE.

    Going on what info Broadstar has given us so far, Ive created an entry called UserDefName = AverMedia BDA analog TV Tuner (also the entry in DevName BTW), by finding the analog tuner card entry and exporting it to a .reg file, then editing it and finding out the UserDevName and then I set the EnableForMce = ffffffff (4294967295)

    Im still getting the "no FM hardware" blah de blah when I go to settings >- Radio

    Im hoping there is a was to get this working as its the only thing ATM that bugs me (having hardware that I cant use in MCE).

    Rep points to Broadstar for his help so far ...

    Hey MisterP,

    I'd be interested if you get your FM going. I was under the impression that the Avermedia Hybrid doesn't have analogue BDA drivers only Digital. (from the Avermedia FAQ page).

    I might have to reinstall my old analogue card in the 3rd slot.

    Later,

    Nudge

    Re: DTV and Analog TV Works (TOGETHER)

    Yeah no worries Nudge.

    I thought that too, but looking in the registry settings it definately says 'AverMedia BDA analog TV tuner', which as you point out does conflict with what Avermedia publish on their website.
    I`ll see how it goes and post any sucess or failures I have.
