Does Logitech Harmony 520 supports powerdvd?

I recently bought Logitech Harmony 520 and configured to mce remote, i was wondering is there any way to configure this remote to handle powerdvd or any other applications....

in plain if i want to fire command alt+f4 to close an application is it possible or configurable to logitech remote....

There are other drivers available for MCE remote which allows you to configure application commands for any application but is there any way to assign keyboard commands to logitech harmony remotes?

Not sure on a 520 but on an 880 you create create a command called "Close" the use the learn option to learn the command sent from an IR device (mce keyboard), press alt-F4.

Got what u r saying...but here's the catch...my wireless keyboard is RF based not IR. Thus not possible....

What i am trying to confirm is if these remotes support some way to assign ur own commands to set it...

looks like i have to use mce remote driver for HIP to get this functionality...

Thanks..anyway...

Zjed,
I tried to learn from my MCE IR Keyboard for a few days without success, even short key strokes like a letter q or w (of course, combined keystrokes like Alt+F4 is the ultimate goal.) Do you have any tricks when teaching the Harmony? My Harmony will take anything beaming at it, but when playing back, nothing would work. Thanks in advance.

No real secrets, I'm using latest harmony software (5.2), put the 880 about 10cm infront of the kb ir output and press alt-f4. Had to do it a couple of times before it said it had a good reading. I have also assigned shortcut keys to things like "My Movies" as Ctrl+Alt+F1 and go to standby Ctrl+Alt+F2. It all seems to work fairly well. It would be nice to beable to download/upload device settings so you could share this stuff.

Re: Does Logitech Harmony 520 supports powerdvd?

Hah, that's what I did but couldn't make it. I called Harmony Tech Support and they said the MCE Keyboard is sending out the signal too fast that the Harmony couldn't learn it. I had to adjust the keyboard rates but still couldn't capture anything good. Harmony Tech Support suggested that if I know someone who has successfully learned the codes that I want , Harmony to copy/paste those codes to my account.

Is it too much if I ask you to teach my remote a few combos. I only need the Ctrl+F4 (to terminate) and a Ctrl+Alt+Home or something with Ctrl+Alt+ to launch Windows Media Player. I can PM you my Harmony user name and password. Thanks
