World's Smallest Smartphone....not what you think

Introducing the new Nokia 5500 Sport, engineered on the Series 60 3rd Edition platform (with built-in Symbian 9.1, making it a smartphone) encorporates a wide range of features into a small package

It is in fact the successor to the Nokia 5140i and includes a huge amount of extra features on top of what this phone offered

The Nokia 5500 Sport features

*Bluetooth

*2 megapixel camera

*262,144 colour screen

*Media Player supports, WMA, MP3, AAC, eAAC+, AMP, MPEG-4, H.263 & FM Radio

*MiniSD Card Support up to 1GB

*64MB on-phone memory & comes with 512MB miniSD card

*Push-To-Talk

*A wide range of sport influenced tools such as a pedometer, flashlight, sports tracking (which keeps a large amount of info)

*A button that switches between different "modes' on the phone (Phone, Music & Sport) also changes the backlit colour of the central button on the keypad

*And a simple tap on the screen will read a sms or read out how your going in sports tracking)

priced from 300 euros...so guess it will be $500-$600

Stoke of genius....(it also has a stainless steel body, for bump & stuff)

Re: World's Smallest Smartphone....not what you think

Unfortunately though its all about screen real estate... i swapped from a XDA I to a 02 Atom and it was pretty much the worst mistake i made - not because of the issues surrounding the rom and so forth its coz the screen is so damn small. I use a headset 90% of the time so the physical size isnt too much of a issue but i jsut want a bigger screen - something like the Jasjar would do me perfectly but unforutnately i was too cheap to srping the extra $300 and am now regretting it.

Re: World's Smallest Smartphone....not what you think

This phone is most likely not for people who actually want a smart-phone

its a phone with a smart-phone ability (like a phone with a camera......its there when you need it but its not its main function)

It's nice to see a smartphone that can take a beating

I am not buying another phone that runs on Symbian. There is now a large enough range of Windows PDA Phones to make me smile.

My father had a treo 600.........it was a piece of !@#$

Phones + Computers dont make good packages he reckons

However....he used to be a Palm fan bu now he traded a 1GB SD card for a very old Windows Mobile device (HP Jornada 568.....Windows Mobile 3.0)

Hes absolutely loving all the features that are standard on a Windows Mobile that he had to either pay for or download on a Palm however he has to get used to the fact you can multi-task in a Windows Mobile (as the palm he had doesnt do multi-tasking......and i dont think Palm's can)

the O2 Atom is amazing and looks magnificent

(i dont mean to start this into a Palm or Windows War but he just seems to like it better )

Yet another unreliable Nokia mobile phone.

Don't get me started on Sony Ericsson, either.
