re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Well, I've been trying to get this working for a couple weeks but I can't seem to get past this big error message that others are getting. I get it after I try to save. It asks me if it can close Media Center (I've already shut it down, as well as the monitor and tray apps) and then it crashes. I've cleaned out the log file and went through the same steps. The log file is attached. The weird thing is, some of my changes seem to work and others don't...

Anyways, love the app, hope to get it to work for me soon. If so, I'll be happy to support you with a donation!

This does sound strange. If it is asking you to close Media Center, then there should be an ehshell.exe process running on your machine. Are you sure there are not other users logged on, or maybe extenders? Anyway, thanks for the report - please try the new version i'm about to post and let me know how it goes.

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

New version, 0.2.4:

http://rapidshare.com/files/11238840...nder_0.2.4.msi

Changes for this version are:
  • Fixed problem where links would remain in VMC after being deleted/moved in Menu Mender (thanks to samw97 for his help with this one). If you already have this problem, then you will have to configure Menu Mender so that it matches what VMC is showing, and from this point on everything should work correctly.
  • Tweaked the way languages are handled when writing resource files - hopefully this will fix the errors that people with non-english language packs were seeing (let me know - hard to test this myself).
  • No longer writes to ehres.dll if the changes you made apply only to the registry.

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

So I didn't realize an extender could cause an issue, but it turned out my XBOX360 was on. So I turned it off and now when I try to save it doesn't ask me to shut down Media Center, but I still get the same huge error screen...

I will definitely try the new version tonight or tomorrow night and let you know if it fixes this, thanks!

Eddie

I still cant delete/replace quiiq projector or add any other plugins to the tv+movie strip. But the new version still opens and works like the last for me.

Have you tried adding quiiq projector back to your TV + Movies strip in Menu Mender to match what VMC is showing, and then deleting it again - as per the instructions above?

Mender displays it as being right but upon entering vmc its all wrong with quiiq in the spot that i want myTV in.
Isn't there a limit of one custom tile in the built-in strips? If Quiiq is already in there, adding myTV won't work.
