Yes, that's almost certainly the problem - i'm guessing that the administrator and user groups on danish windows aren't "Administrators" and "Users"? I'll try to make this more language friendly in the next version.
No the groups are called
Administratorer (for Administrators)
Brugere (for Users)

But isn't there some gneric name that can be used that will work with all langauges
(like %windir% for the windows folder but with groups)

I have taken ownership oer the 2 files (even 3 since I have a he-IL pack as well, so there is another ehres.dll.mui).

I have no UAC enables, but I am running as Admin anyway.

I get this exception when clisking on Save:

BTW te hebrew text means: Request Not Supported.

Do you know what is the reason?
Thanks for the report (and the translation). I'll look into this over the weekend and let you know.

Yes, you can use well known SIDs to do this. Possibly just using the currently logged on user is sufficient as well. I guess I just got a bit lazy before I'll look at this over the weekend too.

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Ran into another problem. I was trying to add MyNetflix entry point to one of the strips and somehow dropped it into the Tasks strip. Now I can't seem to remove it from the strip. It doesn't show up in the customiser. But still shows up in the Tasks strip. How can I remove it?

Sorry, no idea why this is happening - I can't reproduce it at all. If you export the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center key to a file using regedit and send it to me in a PM, that might help me work out what is going on.

In the meantime, you can get rid of the link from the Tasks strip by deleting the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Extensibility\Categories\Services\Activitie s key from the registry.

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

I think I found the problem.

A copy of the Activities key was left in HKEY_USERS\S-...\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Medi a Center\Extensibility\Categories\Services

When I deleted the key it removed the tile.

One other very minor bug... When I make a change to a custom strip, the save button does not become active. Only when I touch something else, does the save button become active.

Any progress on this?

I really want to edit my menu... another funny thing is that the program shows My Movies strip whilst MCE doesn't

I had hoped to have a new version that will fix or at least greatly reduce your problem (along with a whole host of others) ready for today, but I ran into a few problems at the last minute, so it will now be ready tomorrow.

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

MC Menu Mender 0.2.5 Beta is available for download:

http://rapidshare.com/files/11309151...nder_0.2.5.msi

The list of changes for this release are:
  • Now supports per-user addins (previously only addins installed for all users were supported).
  • Fixed bug that resulted in some addins (including Yougle Vista) from being detected.
  • Fixed problem that resulted in a failure to save on non-english versions of Windows.
  • Fixed problem that resulted in custom strips not appearing in the VMC menu.
  • Can no longer edit titles of packages (online spotlight, net tv) as this results in the links for those packages not working.
  • Can now only create 2 custom strips (you could only see 2 in VMC before, even though you could create more)
  • A number of other stability fixes and minor UI tweaks.
  • Removed dependency on .NET 3.5, as lots of people don't seem to have this yet - now only .NET 3.0 is required.
  • Fixed problem with links remaining in VMC after being moved or deleted in Menu Mender.
  • Added option to create a support package if you are having problems. This option is available from the about box.
I have also removed the condition that specified that you could only install on x86 Windows, as I have had no feedback from the people who said they would test on x64 for me. However, I still don't know if it will work, so please only try it if you have a back up of your machine. I accept no responsibility for anything it might do to your computer.

Hope this fixes a few problems for people!

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Advent;

I tried the last update, and received a full page of errors. Starts with System.Windows Markup.XamlPrseException:Cannot create instance of 'StartManagerMenu' defined in assembly 'Advent.MediCenter.... Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation..

I'm not sure how to screen capture it, but I will find out how and post. Same error on both my Vista boxes.

Don't screen capture it, please post the log.txt file (attach the file, rather than just posting the contents) from the application directory.
