Hardware:
Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S-Plus Modell 794 or even better HD model WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 Modell 229
Hauppauge WinTV-CI Modell 327 version A2 (don't get A1)
make sure you use the vista driver for vista. yes it does work on vista.
i like MCE 2005 very stable make sure you use MCE driver (Not XP driver).

Is there anywhere locally that supplies these parts?

Also is there any major configuration needed in order to integrate this into windows media centre?

I just don't want to fork out more money for it not to work.

This is the ideal solution I have been looking for to integrate Austar into my media centre.

Re: MCE - Foxtel / PAY TV Guide

I dont think this will work anymore with austar (some can correct me if they like) they have changed there encryption this coinsided with the mystar release. Dreambox & linux user have been able to card share and crack NDS/videoguard for a while now good source of info www.austech.info/dreambox they have had problems with there dreamboxes with austar for a little while

ieuser: what software are you using with the cardreader? or is it on a linux server using newcs ccam ? can you elaborate on your setup

Re: MCE - Foxtel / PAY TV Guide

Nothing special
i use all the support that hauppauge.de have on their web site.
for the nova-s plus.
that's nothing special.
i don't have any it certificate. just a lot of reading.
foxtel is very HD on mce 2005 from the satellite card.
i'm happy with it so far.

ok setup the drivers restart your pc then install this reg file i have created for Australian DVB-T frequency and you should scan for the channel like usall and you should get a total of 205 channels including satellite radio.
that easy. any problem email me
