Recording Austar Outside VMC?

Hi All,

I originally had Austar integrated into VMC but was never totally happy with the setup.

I now have a Hauppuage HVR-1300 sitting here doing nothing and was wondering can I run some other software on the media centre and just use that when I want to record something from austar?

What software would be suitable for this? I don't recall getting any software with the card when I purchased it.

Any ideas?
