A couple of quick qestions from a Pay TV first timer

Firstly I haven't done a lot of 'searching' on this forum (but I have done some) about this subject but have looked around a fair bit elsewhere, but it seems to get so secretive when any talk of Pay TV and Computers get mentioned in the same thread (everyone seems to think its the federal police wating to be offered free pay tv so they can swoop!!) and all the talk of "That card needs this CAM" has got me realising I need to study up abit on sat tv priciples so flame away if you like

Just got into pay tv through an impulse buy, a select tv card, cheap and no contracts so I'll give it a go for a month or two and see if I get the use.

Now Question time..

Is there a tuner that will take a pay tv card or do we run with TiggerK's nice tutorial using the supplied reciever ?

Anyone know of a Select Tv Epg that can be used in WMC,( none on FreeEPG or ICE) ?

Am I any closer to being able to pick up extra sat channels because I have a computer integrated into the setup, (and not neccesarily(though not excluding) channels that should be subscribed too)

OR have I missed the mark completely ?
It just seems to get so mirky when Paytv gets thrown into the HTPC mix (at least to me anyway)
