Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
Hi all, I have been wondering how I would reprogram the Foxtel remote to control my TV and possibly also Media Center, as I have done with the MCE remote (albeit with only 3 buttons). I figure if 'av' mode disables the regular foxtel buttons, then it must be for controlling av devices, unfortunately, the iQ2 doesn't come with any documentation, so I have no idea how to do it.
Re: Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
I think these are a couple of unlikely aims...particularly controlling MCE via foxtel remote...some basic TV control, maybe??
Get a universal remote and do it all in one Many people are saying nice things about the Harmony One. I have the harmony 880. If you can get one new/in good nick, they are OK too...just dont drop it alot, like I have
Re: Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
Thanks mate, but I do believe it is possible, as a while ago I heard others talking about it. In all honesty though, I don't care that much about controlling MC through the Foxtel remote, but I would like to be able to switch the TV on and off using it (and perhaps change the input source), as I would then be down to 2 remotes (MCE and Fox). I can currently do pretty much everything except turn the tv on/off.
The Harmony remote, while sounding nice, is a bit out of reach as I am a medical student with zero income, and asking my parents to spend a couple hundred on a remote control... well they'll just laugh at me, and not bother responding, which is why I'd like to know if the Fox remote can do it.
If it's not, I'll just keep that bulky Samsung remote next to me, not like it's the end of the world.
Re: Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
I know the IQ remote is advertised as a 'learning remote' but not sure about the standard one. If you cant get an answer here, head over to http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...w.austech.info Ive had a bit of a dig around for you but couldnt find anything...
totally understand the student poverty situation, been there done that!! (Im a physio myself)
but as a medical student, in 10 years time, you'll be up to your neck in the $$ (though may not have any actual time to play htpc lolz!)
actually, while im here >> i should mention that a standard mce remote($40) can control MCE, learn basic TV and learn a foxy remote if being used in conjunction with an analogue capture card
Re: Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
Thanks mate. Heading over there now. My remote is neither, it's the iQ2 remote, which one would think would have at least all the features of the iQ remote, but you never know. It certainly seems a step backward aesthetics.
Noted that the MCE remote can learn, but it has only 3 buttons that can do so. I have the power button changing my input source, and the volume buttons changing volume. Just needed 1 more .
Re: Does anyone know how to program the Foxtel Remote?
Thanks mate. I didn't know it made a difference to specify iQ (I figured the old one could do it too). And I hope that applies to the iQ2 remote as well. I did actually poke around the foxtel website, but didn't go to the accessory section, because I figured that was where they sold stuff. Looks like it's very programmable, and I may in fact be able to do everything on the one remote.
