Austar remote and IR Blaster?!

I have a MS remote with the receiver. I have connected the IR Blaster to the receiver but can not get the IR Blaster to change my Austar box.
I have tried
1) All of the Austar codes (Selecting Austar from the list and going through the list of Austar remote codes)
2) Trying to get the receiver to learn the remote (Just does not want to learn!)

Someone out there must have there IR Blaster changing the AUstar box!
Could you please tell me how you did it.

Re: Austar remote and IR Blaster?!

can you please explain a bit further ??

Just to clarify, have you successfully setup austar in MCE via an analogue cap and are now setting up the remote.. ??

please see the payTV setup guide for further info on blaster setup The key to getting to this bit though is during tuner setup in MCE >> in analogue tuner setup it goes through this process with you

Yes I am trying to setup the remote now to change the channels. When the option displays Press 0 and hold. After that option, it says it does not recognise the remote. Then I go through a huge list of options. Austar and Foxtel are there, I have only tried the Austar options. The process you mentioned fails to recognise the remote.
Do this explain a bit clearer or am I still over the place?

Re: Austar remote and IR Blaster?!

Dont panic people. I found out it was the way the IR blaster was situated in front of the Austar box. Very tempremental, much like ita owner. I went though the option of saying I do not have a remote. It then asks if its 2,3, or 4 digits channels. I said 3, I then followed the on screen prompts until it asked for what type of remote. I choose Austar and then went through the option of Austar remote codes, I think the 7th or 8th option out of 11 worked for me.
Much happeir now. I dont have dual tuners working, but I'm happy to just use my s-video connection to record Austar and use my PVR to record DTV.

Dont want to play with the registry.

good to hear you have it sorted.

As for not doing it now...fair enough.Believe me, you'll be back Theres nothing like using vmce to control it all It took me a year to bring my mind to want to give it a go.... and then about 2-3 days of slowly reading and getting it set up just the way I like.

You can always back your system/registry up, and easily reverse any changes you make
