Pay TV Options in North Maclean Queensland

I'm taking the family from Melbourne and moving to North Maclean in Queensland.

I understand there is no cable available in that area, only satellite.

Does anyone know of any other providers other than Foxtel / Optus? Select TV doesn't impress me because of the limited channels.

Are there any other options I don't know about?

Also, any advice on internet, phone services, etc, would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Re: Pay TV Options in North Maclean Queensland

You might be far enough out of Brisbane and the Gold Coast to be in Austar territory. They're the regional carrier for Foxtel with a couple of slight differences (same satellite signal, but they use different encryption technology - it's theoretically possible to use their smart card directly in a PC).

Optus don't do satellite (even though they own the satellites - well, them and the Commonwealth Bank).

Not sure about telecoms though.

Yep, Austar's it. On the Sunshine Coast where I'm on the hinterland, that's all we have available, will be the same with North Maclean

Welcome to the Sunshine State!

Thanks for the welcome,

Unfortunately, Austar doesn't service the area where I am. Apparantly, they used to, but now don't.

Anyone know of alternative satelite services I can look into?
