New Foxtel Box = No Audio

Hi

Having bought a new amp, I had a cunning plan to get Foxtel to give me a new box which outputs component and digital audio.

Foxtel was working perfectly before (old UEC box), from SCART to S-Video lead which hooked into the 'AV In' port of the tuner card.

With the new PACE box, I now have the same SCART to S-Video lead going to the tuner card (I haven't played with component going direct to the amp/tv etc yet).

I now have video but no audio for Foxtel, however digital tv audio and music etc from the PC still works fine.

If I put the S-Video leads directly onto the amp (which goes to the TV), both audio and video work fine.

Any ideas on whether this a signal/cable issue (eg is the audio via SCART now digital not analogue?) or an encoding issue on the PC?

Cheers

I have:

Digitalnow Dual Hybrid PCIe (Foxtel in via S-Video 'AV In')
Foxtel PACE SD420 box
Vista MCE
Denon amp

Hi crells,

hmm, so you've got the Svideo cable AND and red and white audio cable going into the Digitalnow tuner??

When you say

you mean the two audio cables as well I assume??

Hmm, it's hard to be sure as I haven't used that card in analogue mode. Are you sure that it is supported in MCE in analogue mode?? Their website only talks about DVB-T under MCE..... maybe send them an email if you still have no luck after more trying...

Cheers

Re: New Foxtel Box = No Audio

Thanks for that - yep I did mean all three cables (yellow, red, white).

I started from scratch over the weekend, not sure if it was a faulty connection or what, but got it working and now have digital audio going from the Foxtel box into the PC. Have got the SCART leads going into the analog card and also have an optical lead going into the sound card inputs, have no idea which one is working and now don't care coz it is!
